Comfortable bed, good bathroom, central location, helpful staff

Surrounding streets quite noisy - luckily my room was at back away from noisy pubs but had very noisy seagulls waking me up early. The room was quite small - Ok for one person but for two? There was a strange smell coming from outside, a kind of rotting. The honesty minibar was not fully stocked - apparently they don't have their licence yet. I didnt like the idea of no receptionist in the evening - you had to use a nonuser friendly code to get in at night - and suppose my flight had been late and I had arrived after 8?

The staff were charming and helpful.

Dreadful noise of seagulls and the heat of the room made us unable to sleep

This guest house has been designed to a good spec with all the facilities you need for a city break. It's in a great location in central Bristol. The breakfast was tasty and the service perfect. The receptionist was genuinely helpful and the whole place had a great laid back vibe.

There was only one thing that marred the experience - we were on the 2nd floor and the heat was unbearable. The rooms are not air conditioned and with the hot, muggy weather we suffered. The hotel kindly provided a fan for the second night and this did make a difference. I'm sure that for 90% of the year this wouldn't even be an issue.

The location was excellent with the market on the doorstep in the old city and easy location to the docks and other areas of the city. The hotel itself has a lot of character and has been refurbished to a high standard. Very comfortable stay and the staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The only down-side was the ensuite which, whilst very well equipped, was extremely small (to the extent that there was no floor area to put down a bath mat and a tall/large person would have trouble negotiating the facilities. Also, our room was to the front of the hotel overlooking a road and bar which were noisy in the evening/night and early morning. We would book a room at the rear of the property next time to avoid this.

The receptionist when we arrived on Weds 20th July was excellent and dealt with all our queries and requests promptly and efficiently. She was very welcoming and an excellent asset to your business. It was modern, bright and clean and a great location for getting out and about in Bristol. The rooms are a decent size and the beds very comfortable. This guesthouse is ideal for a weekend or just a few nights.

We had difficulty finding it even using a local taxi driver so it could be better sign posted. There needs to be better lighting in the bathrooms, difficult for putting on make-up and the actual shower cubicle is very dark. The only thing we were really disappointed with was the standard of the food at breakfast. It was not worth the £7 we paid. Having said that, in our party of 8, 2 of us had a good breakfast, the rest were very hit and miss. BUT, we could not fault the service we received from the staff, they were all friendly and helpful. If I recommended to other people, or indeed come back again myself, I would choose to eat breakfast elsewhere if it was still the same.

Friendly staff. Clean room. Excellent breakfast. Central location.

Smallish rooms. Room noise would be an issue at the weekend from nearby bars. As with most Bristol city centre locations parking is an issue although nearby ncp is available at a discounted rate of £9 per day.

Clean, up to date, with a very comfortable bed

Room was very hot ,tried having the windows open but the bar opposite was extreemly noisey so had to keep them shut...even then the noise level was still high. Bar didnt shut untill about 2.30 am

Myt gps had some issues to find the place. The hotel is located in a pedestrian street, on a side of the San Nicholas Market, on San Nicholas Street.

    Clean,comfortable bed

It was hot in the room even with the windows open full (it was a very hot day in July)

Service was first-class. The hotel had a relaxed comfortable feel, as you would expect from a boutique hotel. Fit-out was clean and modern, while retaining the relaxed feel. Breakfast was excellent value. Free Wi-Fi worked well, and having a PC available for use was a nice touch.

Rooms could be a little stuffy and opening the double-glazed rooms was problematic as it was noisy with them open.

Recent renovation, stylish common areas, comfortable rooms with good bathrooms, great location in traditional covered market in old centre of Bristol

Some noise on weekend at night, but did not disturb sleep

Loved everything about it - the decor was beautiful, our triple room was spacious and the bathroom was luxurious! To top it off, its in a beautiful and handy location surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants! Also, i should mention that the staff were so friendly and helpful and gave us a recommendation for a great restaurant called Aqua! Will be recommending it to all my family and friends and would definitely stay here again!
